What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?

An approach specific to you

We all view the world differently. Two people can experience the same situation but when asked about it afterwards could tell very different stories. Around 80% of new memories we create are based on past experiences, this is our brain's way of being efficient. If we had to notice each detail of everything we experience we'd never get anything done! Because of this we all have our own unique perception of the world around us, and any problems we have are unique to us. It's essential to work within your view of the world to get the best results for you.

I believe everybody already has the resources they need to live their life the way they want to, sometimes we just need a little guidance to be more aware of our own capabilities. Through cognitive hypnotherapy we can work together to help you get rid of your unwanted problems.

How does cognitive hypnotherapy differ to other hypnotherapy approaches?

Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses only a shallow trance, similar to what we experience when we daydream, to guide a person into a relaxed state where they are not distracted by their current environment, and can put aside conscious thoughts and listen to their unconscious.

Rather than concentrating on what you don't want, we will concentrate on what you do want. People often know exactly what their problem is, but when asked what they would want in it's place they have to think about it for a while.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy takes recent understandings of how the brain works, NLP methods and a modern view of the use of trance, to create a combination that can be very effective in a relatively short amount of time. Many problems can be helped in as little as 2-4 sessions.

The therapy I offer is not just limited to our sessions together, I will teach you techniques you can do yourself between sessions to benefit your progress.
